Monday's Get Fit Tip: Take Advantage of Your Gym's Childcare!

Today I have succumbed to the heat and went to my gym to jog on the treadmill! I'm not a huge fan of the treadmill, but I'm defnitely not a fan of jogging in the heat!

However, I had a GREAT time working out! My gym (I go to a YMCA) has FREE childcare, so I definitely took advantage of it! Since my baby girl is under 10 months, I'm only allowed to leave her for an hour. Once she's older I can leave her up to 2 hours. However, that was plenty of time to get a good jog in. I have to tell you, it felt awesome! Since I usually push her in a stroller on the sidewalk while I jog, I don't use headphones so I'm alert of everything going on around us. On the treadmill I put in my headphones and had some awesome me time! It felt great to push myself while listening to some of my favorite tunes!

If you are a member at a gym, see if they have free childcare! I bet that most gyms do. If not, see if another mommy friend of yours wants to swap babysitting duties so the other can workout. I can tell you that I'm a much better mom when I get my exercise. It energizes me and helps me feel good about myself so that I can give my daughter 100% of the love and playtime she needs!

The Impact of Couponing

A few days ago, I shared a little info about how to get started with couponing. You can read that here. Today, I want to share with you a couple of my recent shopping trips to show you an example of how much money you can save by couponing. It also shows that you can get good products and that you don't have to do anything extreme to save money!

With this trip I also got a $50 Lowe's gift card for only $40 because I spent at least $25 in groceries before coupons! I went ahead and got it because I knew we would be moving soon and would be doing some home improvement stuff.

So there you have it! I was able to get some quality, healthy grocery items for very cheap because of couponing! And, I didn't have to do anything extreme like on the TV show! It took me probably around 30  minutes to put together my shopping lists and gather my coupons. I think it is time well spent!

Do you have any couponing questions? I would love to help!
